Lloyd’s gas and renewables

Lloyd's Gas & Renewables are MCS accredited, Heat Geek certified heat pump installers serving the whole of Greater Manchester. From Salford to Stockport, Bolton to Bury, our team of fully qualified engineers design and install air source heat pump systems built around your home -- not a template.

With 143 five-star Trustpilot reviews and £7,500 available through the Government's Boiler Upgrade Scheme, there has never been a more affordable time to make the switch from gas. We handle the BUS grant paperwork on your behalf, so you do not need to navigate it alone.

Every installation starts with a free heat loss survey of your home. We calculate your exact requirements before recommending anything -- meaning you get a system that works properly, keeps you warm, and costs less to run than your old boiler.

Why Greater Manchester Homeowners Choose Lloyd's Gas

  • Heat Geek Certified
We are one of a small number of Heat Geek certified installers in Greater Manchester. That means advanced system design -- heat loss surveys, hydraulic calculations, precise flow rates -- not just a boiler swap.
  • MCS Accredited
MCS accreditation is a legal requirement to install heat pumps under the Boiler Upgrade Scheme. We are fully accredited, meaning you can claim the £7,500 grant through us without any issues.
  • APHC, RECC and IWA Members
We are members of the APHC, RECC and IWA. These independent bodies provide consumer protections and workmanship guarantees over and above the standard installer warranty.
  • 143 Five-Star Reviews
Every review on our Trustpilot profile is from a verified customer. No paid reviews, no incentivised feedback -- just homeowners across Greater Manchester sharing their experience.
  • No Subcontractors
Every installation is carried out by our own engineers. We do not pass jobs to third parties, so the quality and accountability stays with us from survey to sign-off.

£7,500 Government Grant -- The Boiler Upgrade Scheme

The Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS) provides £7,500 toward the cost of a qualifying air source heat pump installation. The grant is available to homeowners in England and Wales who are replacing a fossil fuel heating system.

As an MCS accredited installer, we can apply for the grant on your behalf. You do not need to navigate the process yourself -- we handle the paperwork from start to finish, and the £7,500 is deducted directly from your installation cost rather than being paid to you separately.

Fully Accredited. Independently Certified.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Do you cover my area of Greater Manchester?

A: We cover all of Greater Manchester including Manchester city centre, Salford, Stockport, Bolton, Bury, Oldham, Rochdale, Wigan, Tameside, and Trafford. If you are unsure whether we cover your postcode, get in touch and we will confirm.

A: Installation costs vary depending on the size of your property and the complexity of the system design. The £7,500 BUS grant significantly reduces the cost for most homeowners. We provide free, no-obligation quotes so you can get an accurate figure before committing to anything.

A: Most air source heat pump installations take between 2 and 5 days. This includes fitting the outdoor unit, connecting it to your heating system, and testing everything before we leave. We will give you a clear timeline as part of your free survey.

A: Not always. Heat pumps run at lower flow temperatures than gas boilers, which means they need enough radiator surface area to release heat effectively. We assess this room by room during the heat loss survey and only recommend upgrades where they are genuinely necessary.

A: In most cases, no. Air source heat pump installations fall under Permitted Development rights. There are exceptions for listed buildings or properties in conservation areas -- we will advise you during your survey if this applies to your home.

A: We cover all ten boroughs -- Bolton, Bury, Manchester, Oldham, Rochdale, Salford, Stockport, Tameside, Trafford, and Wigan -- as well as the surrounding towns and villages across the region.
